Every time I take my car into the shop I remember the day I got the call from my first publisher. I was miserable, temping for an evil title company. At lunch my car wouldn't start. I had to take it in to the shop. I was broke, miserable and it was the day before my birthday. I couldn't help but wonder what was next.
Then the call came and what came next was a future where things would get better. Things will get better. When in the repair shop it is important to remember that things will get better. Which is a good thing to think no matter where you are.
Cities and suburbs, real and imaginary.
