Were you listening? Oh, I guess you weren't.

The free downloads of Kindle copies of "Are You Listening?" wound down and it's pretty clear that not too many people are listening. Less than 300 downloads happened. That would be terrible numbers in a week of a paid release, and this one was free. But... So... I guess no one is listening?

Well. Good to know. If no one listens loud enough as these terrible numbers, there won't be anything to listen to soon enough.

In the mean time, it doesn't stop the word train from running. We're still doing Dogsland III, in September. I'm going into the cave to try and get this editorial pass through, and push some pieces where they need to move in the tapestry.

Still, the story will remain where it is, and maybe people will find it.

Anybody got any ideas to how the story could move more units, I'm all ears in the comments. We were featured at SFSignal, word was spread across the social media sphere. What else did folks need?

Are you listening?

Nobody ever said the writing gig was going to be easy, and there's going to be ups and downs. This one was definitely a down moment. Hopefully the up moment is coming right around the corner.

Hi. For what it's worth, I was one of the folks who downloaded and read "Are You Listening?" back in February. As a result, I bought and read Tales From the Fathomless Abyss, followed by Devils of the Endless Deep and Nirvana Gates. I expect I'll be picking up Cat Rambo's tale soon. Enjoyed the lot of 'em, and I wouldn't have found any of it if I hadn't read "Are You Listening?" first. In case you're wondering, I heard about that giveaway from Jaym Gates, who posted about it. I like shared worlds and indie projects, and I was already familiar with and fond of several of the Tales authors. I'll just add that Nirvana Gates was haunting, as, I expect, it was meant to be. :-) I'd like to read more about Valthusian's life, and of Glimmergling's quest for his wife.
